Wellness comes from within and at La Negra we offer various activities to maintain and improve not only your physical wellbeing but  your mind and spirit as well.  All our wellness offerings are rooted in the ancient eastern concepts and philosophies of zen, balance and inner peace.  

We offer our guests private classes, training and wellness sessions by appointment only.  Whether it be one hour or multiple sessions over the course of days during your stay, our goal is to provide you a special and fulfilling experience according to your particular situation, goals and needs.

All wellness activities take place in our studio and are by appointment only.  We recommend that you contact us prior to your arrival if you are interested in scheduling more than one session. 

Meditation & Qigong

While many are familiar with meditation, fewer have been exposed to the practice of qigong (pronounced "chi gong").  Qigong loosely translates to "energy cultivation."  Utilizing breath, standing postures and fluid movement, this ancient Chinese art opens the meridian energy channels throughout your body, revitalizes your spirit and promotes healing, flexibility, longevity and inner awareness.  Like meditation, qigong relieves mental and physical stress, calming, balancing and unifying the mind and body.  

Sessions run approximately 75 minutes

Private sessions: $80 

Couple sessions: $150

Acupuncture
Acupressure & Massage

The healing arts of acupuncture, acupressure and massage originate in ancient China and utilize the meridians and energy channels of the body to balance, revitalize and heal.  The stress of a daily routine, strenuous physical exercise like surfing, or emotional events can create tension in the facia and muscles, which may manifest itself as physical injuries or pain.  Acupuncture, acupressure and massage are effective tools to reduce and eliminate tension and blockages in the body’s natural energy field, which is the vital life force that allows the body to heal itself.     

 

Sessions run approximately 90 minutes 

Private session: $120

Training

Challenge your body and mind with a unique training experience that incorporates timeless and proven techniques from the disciplines of kung fu, qigong and taichi chuan. No prior martial arts experience is required or necessary.  These techniques derive strength, quickness and power from the body’s inherent physical structure and innate energy force and the general principal of yin and yang.  This style of training strengthens facia and muscles while developing balance, focus and flexibility.  

Sessions run approximately 75 minutes

Private sessions: $80 

Couple sessions: $150

Bharú 生于海
Head Master of Aknanda Healing Arts

Bharú is an International qualified master instructor of Qigong, Medical Qigong, Kung fu, and Meditation/Mindfulness. He is the founder of Aknanda Healing Arts. He started practicing at an early age and began his studies in Oriental Arts since 1999, learning in China, Indonesia, Thailand & Argentina. During the latest years he has been teaching in Argentina, Vietnam, Nepal, Berlin, Italy & also in his base home Nosara, Costa Rica.
The purpose of the Aknanda Method is to find balance and a healthy life by developing our full human potential, quality of life and vitality.
